Biography

Rachel Goslins’ most recent feature documentary, ’Bama Girl, premiered at SXSW in 2008 and aired on IFC. Her first short film, Onderduiken, was about her family’s history in Holland hiding from the Nazis during WWII. She has made films for National Geographic, Discovery, PBS, A&E and History. She was also the Director of the Independent Digital Distribution Lab, a joint PBS/ITVS project focused on distributing independent films online.


From 2009 to 2015, Rachel was Executive Director of the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities. In August 2016, she was appointed Director of the Smithsonian's Arts and Industries Museum.
