Annemarie Anang

Annemarie began writing for children after struggling to find books for her daughter that featured main characters who reflected the diversity of children in our world. A former primary school teacher, Annemarie’s love for storytelling led her to study acting at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She has featured in multi award-winning Ted Lasso on Apple TV and performed with groundbreaking theatre companies Punchdrunk Enrichment, The Factory and Lazarus Theatre Company. Annemarie sang with Bukky Leo & Black Egypt as a backing vocalist for years and continues to sing in projects from Opera på Skäret to Tal till Nationen with Grammis Award-Winner Sara Parkman & Konstgruppen Ful. She now sings lead vocals on her own projects and enjoys working with choirs. An advocate for creativity and well-being, Annemarie is the co-founder of CandleLight Studios, a new creative and well-being hub in the heart of Sweden. A Londoner, born to Ghanaian parents, Annemarie now lives in the Swedish forest with her family and two adopted cats.
