
Biography
Hans Raspotnik (born 27 February 1910 – 29 March 1995 in Berlin) was a German film producer and screenwriter. Raspotnik began his artistic career at the age of 17 as an artist at the circus Sarrasani. He also worked in film productions and was imprisoned by the Gestapo because he allowed other actors to escape from the Czech Republic. After his arrest, he was first taken to Sachsenhausen concentration camp and then transferred to Buchenwald concentration camp. From there, he managed to escape to Yugoslavia. Raspotnik returned to Germany with the American troops.In the 1950s, he began his film work as a consultant and production assistant, where he quickly developed into an influential producer.Under his leadership, productions such as The Girl Marion, Made in Germany – A Life for Zeiss (with Carl Raddatz in the role of Ernst Abbés), Frauenarzt Dr. Sibelius and Klein Erna on the Jungfernstieg were created. In his production company, he had at times known actors such as Heinz Rühmann, Grethe Weiser and O. W. Fischer under contract.According to his own reports, he produced "Bonanza" for the BBC and worked for an American news channel during John F. Kennedy's visit to Berlin.In addition, he wrote the scripts for rivals of the Manege (1958) and the funny war of Captain Pedro (1959). Dionys to retire, however, returned to Berlin as a producer in 1978. Raspotnik died on 29 March 1995 in Berlin as a result of a stroke.
