Biography
Mark Evitts is an accomplished American composer, songwriter, musician, and producer working across the television, film and music industries. Most recently, Mark served as composer and songwriter for the new Apple TV+ animated series Frog and Toad, based on the best-selling children’s book. The score features a memorable musical palette highlighted by Dixieland banjos and fiddles, alongside swing clarinets and Hot Club guitar.
Following his early career work as a road musician playing with country music artists, Mark has established himself as a versatile songwriter and composer. His songwriting credits include co-writing Nas' single "Brunch on Sundays,” which he also performed on, from the Grammy-nominated album "King's Disease II" and The Game's single "Violence".
In addition to his songwriting and composing work, Mark has served as an arranger and musician on several hit television shows such as NBC's SMASH, notably on Emmy-nominated song "Voice In A Dream.” Other projects he has contributed to creatively include ABC’s The Bachelor and Blood and Oil, CMT’s Nashville, BBC One's documentary Love In A Day, and SVT's award-winning documentary series Jill's Veranda. He has also contributed additional music to the score of the Netflix feature Arlo the Alligator Boy for composer Alex Geringas.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Mark has also performed on prestigious stages worldwide, including The Grand Ole Opry and Carnegie Hall. He has developed a unique sound that he incorporates into his own projects and has provided samples of these authentic sounds to create music software and virtual instrument companies like Output's Arcade.
