Biography

Malarie Howard is an American writer, artist, and musician splitting her time between London and Seattle.


Her writing career began in 2018 when she was hired to write a sci-fi series for Pearl Street Films. Soon after, she sold her first pilot to MRC and was staffed on two seasons of the CW series In the Dark. During lockdown, Malarie contributed to Broadway Video and Audible’s comedy podcast Excessive, which starred Chloe Fineman, Joshua Jackson, and Kim Cattrall.


Her credits include additional material for Thor: Love & Thunder and writing as a co-producer on the Marvel series Ironheart. Her original adventure-western feature (The Cursed Daughters of Dead Ambitious Men) is in development with Mortal Media. Malarie is also developing Your Civic Duty to Participate, an original short film that will be her directorial debut. In addition to her artistic endeavours, she did a rewrite for Paramount’s feature film, Becoming Noble, starring Storm Reid, and wrote the Catwoman origin story, Selina, for Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. Malarie sits on Santa Clara University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship advisory board. The work she does for her alma mater includes mentoring young filmmakers, guest speaking on industry panels, and creating workshops that encourage an entrepreneurial mindset in students from all disciplines. At the moment she’s writing a feature for DC for one of their iconic characters.
