Irene Langemann (born 1959 in Issilkul, Soviet Union) is a German filmmaker. Langemann studied drama and German studies in Moscow at the Theaterhochschule "Schchepkin" (Schchepkin) and from 1980 she worked as an actress, director and theatre author. In addition, she worked as a moderator and director for Soviet television from 1983 and directed the independent Nasch-Theater in Moscow from 1986. In July 1990 Langemann left the Soviet Union and came to Germany with the mother Elisabeth Isaak and the son Michael. Since 1997 she has been working as a freelance filmmaker. After the Millennium, she realized some of her best-known projects for the documentary production company Lichtfilm GmbH.
