Biography

Farshid is an independent film director. An alumnus of the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Melbourne, Australia. His graduation film was awarded Overall Best Production, Best Documentary Production, Best Achievement in Sound and New Voice Award in 49th Annual Graduate Film and Television (VCA).


He was born in 1981 in Tehran, Iran. He started his career as a short film director when he was only fifteen years old. He directed 12 short films and documentaries and participated in a variety of film festivals around the world. In 2012 he moved to Australia to continue his education and make films in a new area. In 2013 and 2016 he was a jury member of “Short Soup Film Festival” and “Wordless International Short Film Festival” in Sydney.


Farshid has been working more than 2.5 years on his first feature documentary about Peter Roberts, the only Australian Music Thanatologist. “


From Music into Silence” will share Peter’s story who changed his life to offer peace and calmness to people facing their final moments.
