Biography

Gordon Freedman is an American educator, producer, writer and investigator. He is currently the president of the National Laboratory for Education Transformation.

Freedman began his career as an investigator on Capitol Hill in the 1970s, when he served on the Watergate Committee, Fraser Committee and U.S. Senate Committee on Civil Service. He is the creator and proprietor of watergatecommittee.org and watergate.org, two archives of digitized material related to the Watergate Committee.

Freedman later became a journalist, and then a producer for ABC Network. Over the course of his career, he produced a number of documentaries including To Heal a Nation (1988), Baby M (1988) and A Brief History of Time (1991). Freedman is also an author of non-fiction books, including Gifts of Deceit (1980) and Winter of Fire (1990).

Since the 1990s, Freedman has been involved in education and education technology. He was an executive at organizations such as California State University and Blackboard Inc., before founding Knowledge Base, LLC and the National Laboratory for Education Transformation.
