Biography
Martin Lüttge (born 7 July 1943 in Hamburg – 22 February 2017 in Plön) was a German actor and director. Lüttge was a son of the garden and landscape architect Gustav Lüttge (1909–1968) and the nurse Erika von Delius (1915–1997). Martin Lüttge spent his childhood first in Hamburg and then, due to war, from 1946 to 1952 in the hamlet of Klashorn belonging to Bad Bramstedt. He was a Waldorf pupil and went to England in the late 1950s to become a farmer. He was educated at a Kälbermasthof in Devon. Soon he also practiced acting there. He broke off his stay in England, first attended the Zerboni School of Drama in Gauting and then the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule. Since that time, acting was Lüttge's second profession in addition to agriculture. The director Fritz Umgelter recognized the talent of the young Lüttge and occupied him for some of the leading roles on television, including in frying potatoes, rebellion of the lost and in the series Wie eine Träne im Oceanen nach der Romantriologie von Manès Sperber. In the previous evening series If the music was not.. (Director Georg Tressler) he became known to a wide audience with the leading role of a music student. From 1966 to 1970 Lüttge also had a stage engagement at the Munich Kammerspiele and made a name for himself there as an all-round talent in the character subject and as a comedy actor. He then stood on stage until 1974 at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus and was then engaged until 1977 at the Schauspielhaus of the Staatstheater Stuttgart with Claus Peymann, where he celebrated great successes as a fist among other things. In 1978 he founded his own tent theatre with other artists, which since 1980 is known as Theaterhof Priessenthal. The free theatre troupe has a 400-year-old, five-hectare farm in Mehring near Burghausen, on which she lives and holds her rehearsals in winter. The theater courtyard, according to the self-presentation, wants to be "self-determined and responsible political folk theatre, cultural producer with a wide range of things. Instead, the actors go on tours and perform in cultural and theatre halls. Today, ten people work at the theater courtyard, which also offers overnight stays, a petting zoo and children's baking courses. Lüttge became known to a broad TV audience from 1992 to 1997 as Commissioner Bernd Flemming in the series crime scene of the WDR. As Bernd Flemming he succeeded the Schimanski presented by Götz George in 1992. Already in the crime scene cinema film Zahn um Zahn (1985) he had a guest appearance as the husband of the reporter Ulli. After fifteen missions Lüttge got out of the series in 1997.Lüttge was in the ZDF as father of Hardy Krüger jr At the end of 2006 to the beginning of 2007 he performed in Berlin with the theater production Brüder Grimm in the role of Jacob Grimm, which he had already played six years earlier at guest performances in Finland, Bulgaria, Poland and Estonia with great success. From February 2010 Lüttge was official sponsor of the children's hospice Bethel. His mother Erika worked as a housemother in Bethel before her marriage.
