Biography
Before becoming a voice actor, Kakihara had always longed to live in Japan. Kakihara has loved to read manga and watch anime since he was little. He was fascinated by entertainment culture; he thought Japan had funny television shows. So with that in mind, he set off toward his goal to become a voice actors. In 2001, Kakihara went to the Amusement Media Academy (a vocational school for voice actors and artists) to study voice acting. The school was surprised he actually came all the way from Germany after receiving a prompt email from him three days prior. Kakihara sincerely requested the school to accept his application. He is nominated for the 'Best Male Newcomer/Rookie' award for his performance at the first Seiyu Awards in 2007. While attending courses, he worked part-time jobs, and improved his Japanese. He debuted as a professional voice actor in 2003.
