John Scott (born 1944 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian film editor. John Scott began his career in film editing with the Bruce Beresford productions The Adventures of Barry McKenzie (1972) and Barry McKenzie Holds His Own (1974). Since then, he has been one of the most renowned Australian editors. Already in 1978, for the first time, he won an AFI Award from the Australian Film Institute for Best Editing. With the Navigator and Little Fish, two more awards were to follow, with Scott nominated six more times. Most recently, he was involved in the montage in the films Game of the Gods – When Buddha discovered football and was responsible for travellers and magicians of the Bhutanese director Khyentse Norbu.
