Biography

Philip Dean Torrens (born 2 June 1960) is an English actor. He is known for his role as Tommy Lascelles in the Netflix drama The Crown, and for leading roles in Poldark and Versailles. His film appearances include The Danish Girl, The Iron Lady, War Horse and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In 2017, he joined the main cast of AMC's Preacher, portraying the antagonist Herr Starr.He has provided his voice to Lofty Thaddeus Worthington in the 2005 film Valiant.

Early Life

Torrens was born in Bromley, Kent, and educated at Bloxham School. He studied English Literature at Trinity College, Cambridge and subsequently studied acting at Drama Studio London.
