Oliver Biehler

Oli Biehler started playing the piano at the age of five. At the age of 12 he took part in music competitions for the first time. Since he was 16, he had his own band and at the age of 21 he signed his first record contract. From 1991 to 1997 he studied at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and film composition at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg under Oscar winner Cong Su. He already owned his first own music studio at the age of 26. Two years later he was part of the Studiogemeinschaft Transporterraum in Berlin, which had formed around the music producer Moses Schneider. During this time he not only produced various film compositions, but he was also an arranger and instrumentalist for artists such as Tocotronic, Beatsteaks and Ronan Keating. In 2007 he moved to the Ammersee, where he set up his studio on the Gut Rauchenberg. In 2014 he returned to Berlin.Since he made his film debut in 1999 with the TV film Delta Team – Mission secret! as a film composer for a feature film, Biehler wrote music for television films like My first friend, Mother and I never told you about it and cinema productions like FC Venus – Attack is the best defense. For his music in My first friend, Mother and I and the seventh photo he was awarded the German Television Award 2004 for Best Music. He received a nomination for the German Film Award 2012 in the category "Best Film Music" for the film Der Albanian. In 2013 he received a nomination for the German Music Author Award of the GEMA. In 2017 he won the German Film Award for the best film music in Johannes Naber's film Das kolde Herz as well as the German Film Music Award of the IAMA (International Academy of Media and Arts).
