Peter Graetz (born 25 September 1944 in Neukirch/Lausitz) is a German writer and theatre scholar. Graetz was born in 1944 in Neukirch/Lausitz. After a few years of practical experience as a concrete worker, material disponent and backdrop slider from 1967 to 1972 at the Humboldt University of Theatre and Art Studies, Graetz was then active as a dramaturge at various theatres and now lives as a freelance writer in Berlin. After his first major prose work (in the midst of my shadow, narrative, 1975), Graetz mainly devoted himself to radio and television dramatism. Among his works are: The Stepdaughter, Children's Hörspiel, 1977; What remains of us, Feature, 1983; The Christmas Plumbers, TV Film, 1986 (in the same year awarded with the Golden Screen); That one praises our zeal, Feature, 1987.
