Nico Crama (born 20 August 1935 in Leiden) is a Dutch film producer. Crama was born as the son of a mechanic in Leiden. After the end of his school years he became an accountant and later worked in a printing house. Since his school years he has been interested in films, joined Leiden der Leidse Smalfilmliga and exchanged ideas with other amateur filmmakers. Crama studied with a scholarship at the Institut des Hautes Études Cinématographiques (IDHEC) in Paris in the early 1950s, came to the film studio Triofilm in Amsterdam in 1955 and the following year to Stichting Nederlandse Onderwijs Film (NOF, later NIAM), where he worked as an editor for educational and educational films.Crama trained in film education in 1959 and taught film theory and practice at the Montessori School in The Hague. From 1961 he was active as a film producer and film director with his company Nico Crama Productions. For Oh Darling by Børge Ring, Crama received an Oscarnomination in 1979 in the category of Best Animated Short Film. Crama worked on numerous films with Paul Driessen and produced, among others, his films Ei om zeep (1977), La belle et la boîte (1982) and Sunny Side Up (1985).
