Biography

Willy Reichert (born 30 August 1896 in Stuttgart; died 8 December 1973 in Mietenkam im Chiemgau) was a German comedian, folk actor and singer. Willy Reichert was born in Stuttgart as the son of a machine master. from Morgenstern in Braunschweig he worked as a sugar technician in a sugar refinery in Hildesheim until he had to enter and become a soldier in 1915.After the end of the First World War he took acting lessons with Max Bing at the Stuttgart State Theatre. In 1921 he began his career as an actor at the Stuttgart Schauspielhaus, to which he returned after several years in the province, among others houses in Zwickau, Landsberg, Heilbronn and a detour to the cabaret in Munich, 1926. In the meantime, he had developed from a young comedian with experience in the opera and operetta field into a distinguished lecture artist. Reichert soon performed with his own repertoire not only at the Friedrichsbau in Stuttgart, but at all the larger variety stages in the Reich. He invented the art figures "Häberle und Pfleiderer" together with the Stuttgart Oscar Heiler in 1931. Until the 1940s, the comedian duo had great success with these Swabian figures on the variety stages in southern Germany. In the 1950s and 1960s, the two artists became popular through regular radio and (later) television programmes. After the war, Fritz Kortner brought Reichert back to the theater. He again appeared at the Stuttgarter Schauspielhaus and in the Stuttgarter Komödie However, Reichert had become so popular and coveted by film, television, radio and cabaret stages that he only rarely found time for the theatre. In the 1950s Reichert played, mostly as a great-growing Schwabe, also in numerous home and entertainment films. In his last years he worked alongside the radio work in various TV series. He had great success in his leading roles in the TV series Die Gasten des Felix Hechinger, Willy Reichert in..., Schwäbische Geschichten, Chronicle der Familie Nägele und Deutschland, Deine Schwaben. In the television game Der Vogel does not let the singing, which was broadcast on his 70th birthday in 1966, he played the village priest Michael von Jung.Willy Reichert was also known as a singer of Swabian songs. The most successful ones, which are still played today in the desired concerts, are Where a green broom beckons, Karle Hank, Auf der Feuerbacher Heide, Auf dem Echterdenger Flugplatz, Dront am Neckar steht a Bänkle, Joggele, mei Bua (I bin Soldat, vallera), M such muass a lassenze kann, O dees wäre schee, i wenn i Geld gnug ht und Das Hobellied. Richert was considered the popular Swabian humorist par excellence. Thaddäus Troll called him "the most famous and popular Swabian since Theodor Heuss is dead." He was, however, not a comedian of loud laughter, rather a quarter philosopher (Reichert), who silently mocked his miraculous contemporaries. His sonorous bass organ underscored the Heiter-conscious in his charism, the "deep stunn, the smile of the wise." Willy Reichert, who also published numerous books and poetry in the English language in 1956, and in the German language, and in the German language, and in the German language. Reichert was buried on the old cemetery in Grassau, in the district of Traunstein. The Willy-Reichert-Staffel to the Karlshöhe in Stuttgart-Süd was named after him. Quotes"Manches begins as an adventure and ends as an expensive evening. "The real humor is the enemy of unreal serious "schau, das ganze Schaffe, Strebe / hat elles gaar koin Sinn / Denn in dei-m letschde Shirt / Du, sell isch giewiß / Do isch bestimmt koi Dash mee in it! "Everyone wants to be old, nobody wants to be old" (also attributed to Martin Held)
