Javier Escrivá

Javier Escrivá de Scorcia y Berges (Valencia; July 21, 1930 – Medina del Campo, Valladolid; July 18, 1996) was a Spanish actor. He graduated in Genealogy, Heraldics and Nobiliary Law, moving from his native city to Madrid, where he begins his interpretative career, which, conditioned by his physics, leads him to interpret roles of galan, although also abound the tormented characters of dramatic calado.The fame comes in 1959 when he interprets the missionary (today saint) Father Damian in the movie Molokai, the cursed island, of Luis Lucia, who obtains a success among the Spanish public.Despite the success of the film, he begins to work a career in the theater, where he interprets works such as El cerco de Numancia, Julio César, Llaman an inspector, JuanDominister, Divine Words, Cyrus de Bergerac or La Celestina.
