Biografia
William Nicholas Selig (14 de março de 1864 - 15 de julho de 1948) foi um pioneiro da indústria cinematográfica americana. Em 1896, criou uma das primeiras empresas de produção cinematográfica, Selig Polyscope Company of Chicago. Selig alegou ter feito o primeiro filme narrativo filmado em Los Angeles, The Count of Monte Cristo (1908), e, em 1909, o que pode ter sido o primeiro estúdio permanente de L.A., em Edendale, Los Angeles, e ser a primeira empresa americana a filmar um filme de dois carrinhos, Damon e Pythias (1908), e o primeiro verdadeiro série (filme), The Adventures of Kathlyn (1913-1914).
