Blade is an anime of twelve episodes transmitted by Animax from 1 July 2011 and inspired by Marvel Comics' character Blade. The anime is the fourth and last of the Marvel Anime project, in which some Marvel characters have been adapted in animation by the Japanese animation studio Madhouse.The story is written by Dai Fujita and Kenta Fukasaku, son of the late Kinji Fukasaku. Jamie Simone has taken on the role of casting director, review producer and vocal director for the English version, where he was assisted by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.It was first broadcast in Japan on Animax from 1 July to 16 July 2011, in the United States aired on G4 from 13 January to 2 April 2012 and on Vicenland and Australia on Sci Fi.
