Plot.
Penrod and his gang do not want to allow the "good" neighborhood, Georgie Bassett, to enter their club, but Penrod's father pushes him to let the child in, because Georgie's parents are wealthy and prominent members of the city. Finally, the boys accept that Georgie joins, but first they demand that he undergo a "initiation", and they are determined to turn it into one that Georgie will not soon forget. (filmaffinit)

Penrod and Sam is a 1923 American silent comedy-drama film directed by William Beaudine and starring Ben Alexander, Joe Butterworth, and Buddy Messinger. Wendy L. Marshall stated that "Beaudine had the Midas touch when it came to directing children" in films like this and Boy of Mine. In 1931, Beaudine directed a sound adaptation of the novel.
