Maria Clara González works as chief nurse in one of the most recognized hospitals in the city: the Santa Rosa de Bogotá. Life would seem to smile at her not being because of the monotony in which she has fallen her marriage to Román, with whom she has two children. On the day of her anniversary, Maria Clara makes the decision to reconquer her husband and reserves a hotel room to spend the night with him. However, Román suffers a heart attack on the place and is moved out of an emergency to receive medical help. Maria Clara spends the night at his side. The next day, a woman named Paula comes along with her little son, and tells the nurse that she is the firstborn of Román. From there, Maria Clara is becoming more and more disillusioned with her husband, to the point of planning her divorce.
