The Cangaceiro Trapalhão is a 1983 Brazilian film by the group of Brazilian comedians The Trapalhão, having also in the cast, the "girlfriend of Brazil" Regina Duarte and inspired by the story of the Cangaceiro Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, also known as Lampião, the so-called "King of the Cangagezo". The film is also inspired by the miniseries Lampião and Maria Bonita exhibited in 1982 and starred by Nelson Xavier and Tânia Alves who in this film reinterpret the same characters. The film also features the participations of Bruna Lombardi, José Dumont and Tarcisio Meira (the latter one in a speechless participation, but decisive for the outcome). Daniele Rodrigues (known for acting as the Narizinho, of Sítio do Picapau Amarelo from 1981 to 1982) also participates in the film as Expedita, being credited as 'Daniele Cristina'. Gabriela Duarte, still a child makes a short appearance in the film, as one of the children in the City of Lindas On the other hand, humorist Chico Anísio was responsible for writing the dialogues of the film. The Cangaceiro Trapalhão, was so successful, that in the same year, an LP with the soundtrack of the film had been released.
