Even the bones is a short film from 2001 made by filmmaker René Castillo. The short film alludes to death in a funny way, characteristic of the Mexican. A man dies (with the voice of Bruno Bichir) and descends to the world of the dead, where he is received with a bohemian feast by a worm, smiling calacas and the very same Catrina who sings sensually. After a while of fun and flirtation, the man discovers that, after all, being dead is not so bad. His production lasted more than 3 years, and his only filming was of year and a half; it took about 15,000 movements of the more than 70 characters who compose this short film of eleven minutes; in the music stands out the participation of Café Tacuba and the interpretation of Eugenia León.This short film is the most expensive in the history of animation in Mexico with a cost of about 3 million pesos.
