It is a new version of the Spanish film Marcelino, bread and wine produced in 1955 that starred Pablito Calvo, in turn based on the book of the same name by José María Sánchez Silva. It was starring by the boy Mark Hernández, accompanied by Alejandro Tommasi, Jorge Lavat, Maya Zapata, Teresa Ruiz, Guillermo Larrea, Gaston Peterson, Waldo Facco and Gerardo Moscoso. Unlike the original version, this was set in the middle of the Mexican Revolution.
