Plot.
Agiography of the famous composer: driven from the Conservatory of Milan, he accepts the place of an opera company and goes on tour. In one of these stages, he falls in love with the woman who will become his inspirational muse. As long as he wants to settle down he accepts the direction of the philharmonic of a city and begins to compose one of his masterpieces.

Immortal Melodies (Italian: Melodie immortali, also known as Mascagni) is a 1952 Italian musical-biographical melodrama film directed by Giacomo Gentilomo and starring Pierre Cressoy, Carla Del Poggio and Vera Molnar. It is based on real life events of classical composer Pietro Mascagni. The film's sets were designed by the art director Alberto Boccianti.
