An intimate character study of Ittetsu Nemoto, a former punk rocker turned Buddhist priest. He saved the lives of many men and women who were suicidal in Japan. When he learns his life is at risk from heart disease due to the heavy emotional workload of supporting those who no longer want to live, he is approaching middle-age with a wife and young boy of his own.
