Plot.
Jeanne, 8 years old, is a little girl with a strong character. Her mother, on the other hand, is going through a depression; she decides to get some help and has to send her daughter to spend the Christmas holidays at her Granny Onion’s house. Jeanne leaves dragging her feet: in the country, there is nothing to do, and Granny’s house stinks of onions! Yet, against all expectations, the holidays turn out to be a real adventure.

Mum is Pouring Rain (French: Maman pleut des cordes) is a French animated short film produced by Laïdak Films written by Hugo de Faucompret and Lison d'Andréa and directed by Hugo de Faucompret. Released in 2021, it won the Jury Prize in the Special TV category at the Annecy international animated film festival the same year. The film was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for the 94th Academy Awards.
