Plot.
Axel Roth is happy in his marriage and with his job. But his mother-in-law wants more for her daughter and manages to sow discord. When both reach an invitation to a high society in the General Manager's home with List, Axel's wife loses an expensive loaned brooch there. From now on, he has to work day and night to pay off the jewel.

Happiness is the Main Thing (German: Hauptsache glücklich) is a 1941 German comedy film directed by Theo Lingen and starring Heinz Rühmann, Hertha Feiler and Ida Wüst. It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich and the Hostivar Studios in Prague. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Rudolf Pfenninger and Ludwig Reiber. It premiered at the Gloria-Palast in Berlin.
