Plot.

Walter Hübner, once a celebrated actor, has returned home severely injured from the war, unemployed and no longer finds joy in his life. His wife Christa is now a successful doctor and puts all her strength into his profession. There Walter enters with Christa's younger sister Ursula. Ursula becomes pregnant, and the marriage of the Hübners is in a serious crisis. Christa wants to give up in favour of Ursula, but then Ursula falls off the stairs and loses the child Then Christa forgives her husband, and the husbands decide to try again.

Love Without Illusions (German: Liebe ohne Illusion) is a 1955 West German drama film directed by Erich Engel and starring Sonja Ziemann, Curd Jürgens and Heidemarie Hatheyer.It was shot at the Spandau Studios in Berlin with location shooting around the city including at Tempelhof Airport. The film's sets were designed by the art director Rolf Zehetbauer.
