Force of Circumstance is a 1990 film written and directed by Liza Bear. A review of the New York Times describes it as "weak, disorganized, poorly acted political thriller in which almost nothing seems true." The two protagonist actresses, Boris Major and Jessica Stuchbury, had previously worked together on The Way It Is (1985), after Force of Circumstance was never again seen on screen; the director of The Way It Is is Eric Mitchell, who also works as an actor on Force of Circumstance. Another curious fact is that The Way It Is is the first film in which actor Steve Buscemi was credited.
