Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

As the world is in the middle of an industrial revolution, a monster appears that cannot be defeated unless its heart is pierced. The monster can create monsters known as Kabane, which are aggressive and zombie-like. People have built stations to shelter themselves from these creatures on the island of Hinomoto. With the help of a locomotive running on steam, people can access the station as well as transport their goods between them. Ikoma, a boy who lives in the Aragane station and helps to build Hayajiro, created his own weapon called Tsuranukizutsu in order to destroy the creatures. One day, as he waits for an opportunity to use his weapon, he meets a girl named Mumei, who is excused from the mandatory Kabane inspection. Ikuma sees Hayajiro going out of control as he sees Mumei again during the night. The staff on the locomotive have turned into creatures. The station is under attack by Kabane, which is an opportunity that Ikoma has been looking for.
