Corrado Valeri, a naval officer, has a somewhat frivolous wife of whom he is irreparably jealous. This situation has an impact on his military life with continuous absences. To avoid complications he should resign, but the Major State offers him an alternative: accept a difficult mission. Valeri thinks to let go, but the heroism shown by his companions in a situation of danger makes him reflect by deciding in order to serve his country.
