Plot.

Drazen Petrovic and Vlade Divac were two friends who grew up together sharing the common link of basketball. Together, they raised the Yugoslav national team to unimaginable heights. After the conquest of Europe, both went to the US, where they became the first two foreign players to reach the stardom in the NBA. But with the fall of the Soviet Union on Christmas 1991, Yugoslavia split up. The war broke in a Croatia of Petrovic and a Serbia of Divac Both Petrovic and Divac continued to confront each other in the NBA basketball courts, but there were no words between them. Then, on the fateful night of June 7, 1993, Drazen Petrovic died in a car accident. This film will tell the exciting story of these men, how the circumstances outside their control separated them, and how Divac has lightened in the face of his friend's death, before they had the opportunity to reconcile.

Once Brothers is a 2010 sports documentary film written and directed by Michael Tolajian. It was co-produced by ESPN and NBA Entertainment for ESPN's 30 for 30 series.

The film chronicles the relationship of two basketball players from SFR Yugoslavia—Vlade Divac (Serbia) and Dražen Petrović (Croatia). The duo played together on the Yugoslavia national basketball team from 1986 to 1990 and were at one time close friends, but the Yugoslav Wars drove them apart emotionally, as they came from opposing sides.
