Renato Villar is a rich businessman, ambitious and unscrupulous, who does anything for power. After having sent dollars abroad and participated in the murder of his friend Celso Rezende, who put his reputation at risk, Renato discovers a dossier of irregularities in one of his companies. Renato tries to solve the problem together with lawyer Mário Liberato, approaching Lucia Brandão, an incorruptible judge appointed to judge his case, with the intention of undermining her. But the two end up falling in love and Lucia, who was always a full and honest woman, begins to live the conflict of judging the man she loves.
