In the Council of Estremoz, in the Alentejo, five brothers, adopted sons of the Alentejo Patriarch Emilio Belmonte (António Capelo) manage the business group Belmonte, owner of companies in the field of winemaking, olive oil, marble exploration, kinegetic tourism and financial and real estate investments. The Belmonte family is linked to the ancestral history of the land, but Emilio, the last descendant of the family, married Clarisse, a woman who could not have children and, therefore, for the survival of the name, the couple was adopting the children. Each of the four older brothers, João (Filipe Duarte), José (João Catarré), Pedro (Diogo Amaral) and Carlos (Marco D'Almeida), are respectively responsible for one of the business areas, while Lucas (Lourenço Ortigão), the youngest, was studying photography in London.
