Plot.
The plot takes place in a small village called Santana, where a mysterious man named Daniel returns after many years. He is considered by some inhabitants as a messiah and awakens the hatred and mistrust of others. The novel addresses topics such as religion, power, redemption and conflicts generated by Daniel's presence, the man who divides opinions and must face the hostility of the community.
