Aus der Haut is an Austrian-German coming-of-age film by director Stefan Schaller from 2015. He deals with the coming-out of the gay teenager Milan, embodied by Merlin Rose. Milan's parents are played by Claudia Michelsen and Johann von Bülow, Leonard Proxauf mimt his best friend and Nicole Mercedes Müller his girlfriend. Further supporting roles are occupied with Johannes Krisch and Manuel Rubey. Moviepilot wrote: "‘Aus der Haut' is dedicated to the disorientation and search for meaning of a young protagonist who has to find his place in the world.' On the Max Ophüls film festival page, it was said that this was "a film about the madness of growing up, about parents who think themselves grown up and whose life makes a dash through their heads, and about the delicate statics of living together in the family.
