The Basic income, a cultural impulse is a German-Swiss documentary that promotes the idea of a Basic income. The film, directed by Daniel Häni and Enno Schmidt, was released in 2008. Since then, it has been translated into several languages among which are Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Slovak, Slovenian, and Spanish.The documentary has been mainly broadcast on the internet and has reached more than 500,000 views by 2012 according to the official website. Versions with subtitles in many languages as well as dubbed versions in French and Slovak can be viewed on YouTube."The video was used as a basis for discussion in numerous groups during the time the Swiss petition for a Basic Income to be included in the Constitution was under way."
