Plot.

A Palestinian girl of 17 who wants to get married to the man of her own choosing. Rana wakes up one morning to an ultimatum delivered by her father: she must either choose a husband from a preselected list of men, or she must leave Palestine for Egypt with her father by 4:00 that afternoon.

Rana's Wedding, also known as Jerusalem, Another Day (Arabic, القدس في يوم آخر ), is a Palestinian film released in 2002. It was produced in partnership with the Netherlands and funded by the Palestinian Film Foundation. The film was directed by Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad in Jerusalem. This was the first film by a Palestinian film director to reach the Cannes Film Festival, and was selected for screening at the International Critics' Week in 2002. Rana's Wedding presents the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through the metaphor of a couple's marriage drama.
