Indian 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film directed by S. Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. A sequel to Indian (1996), the film stars Kamal Haasan who reprises his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. It also stars an ensemble cast that include S. J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore and Deepa Shankar.
Indian 2 was officially announced in September 2017; principal photography began in January 2019 and took place in Chennai, Rajahmundry, Bhopal and Gwalior. In February 2020, an accident led to the death of some crew members. Production was then suspended owing to numerous factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming in August 2022, with Red Giant Movies joining as co-producers. It was further shot in Tirupati, Chennai and Vijayawada, while a few sequences were filmed at Johannesburg and Taiwan. The technical crew comprised of Anirudh Ravichander, Ravi Varman, R. Rathnavelu, A. Sreekar Prasad, T. Muthuraj and V. Srinivas Mohan, as the musician, cinematographer, editor, production designer and visual effects supervisor, respectively.
