Bob and Bobette: The Dark Diamond (Suske in Wiske: De duistere diamond) is a Belgian-Duster film directed by Rudi Van Den Bossche (nl), released in 2004.The film is an adaptation of Willy Vandersteen's dark diamond.The film began in the summer of 2003, after delays due to costly special effects and changes of actors. Initially, it was planned that Dominique Deruddere will lead the film. But when producers were unable to obtain the necessary budget (the European Union having refused a grant application for the film), preparations were interrupted for more than a year. Deruddere then abandoned. The project received the green light mid-2003, Rudi Van Den Bossche replacing Deruddere The filming began in the summer of 2003. Black diamond was first released on 18 (Belgium) and 19 February (Netherlands) 2004.
