Lost Place is a German 3D film directed by Thorsten Klein. The mystery thriller was filmed at the end of 2011 and was released on September 19, 2013 by NFP/Warner Bros. in the German cinemas. The main roles are François Goeske, Jytte-Merle Böhrnsen, Josefine Preuß and Anatole Taubman The film was produced by Berlin-based production company Moviebrats in co-production with Dragonfly Films and NFP marketing & distribution. The story is about four young people who, during a geocaching tour in the Palatinate Forest, encounter an apparently shut down American military base in which top secret experiments with electromagnetic waves were carried out during the Cold War.The film picks up conspiracy theories around the research program HAARP. It is also the first European feature film that deals with the topic of geocaching, and the first German feature film that was filmed in 3D with RED-Epic cameras.Lost Place was the first German and as one of the first European films in the new sound format Dolby Atmos in cinemas.
