Biography
Wolfgang Thaler (born 9 March 1958 in Möllbrücke) is a director of Austrian photography and documentary artist. After studying agriculture, he is a beekeeper. Having curiosity for cinema, he is a guest student at the Vienna Academy of Cinema and is interested in production. He files a dossier for the photography course and is taken immediately. Since 2008, he has been a professor of photography at the Vienna Academy of Cinema He is also a member of the Austrian Academy of Cinema (of).After studying, he has worked since 1998 as director of photography and independent documentary artist for television and cinema. He collaborates in particular with Michael Glawogger and Ulrich Seidl.In 2012, he won the Austrian film award for the best photography for Whores.
