Sada Carolyn Thompson (September 27, 1927 β May 4, 2011) was an American stage, film, and television actress. She was known to television audiences as Kate Lawrence in Family (1976-1980), for which she won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1978.
