It has as its central axis the life of a wealthy family in Barcelona, the Dalmau, from just before the Civil War until the end of the 20th century (1935-1998). During the first part, the driving thread is the story of Isabel Dalmau through her newspapers. Isabel falls in love with Ramon Comes, son of the service, and in her history stands the historical moment that it is for them to live and a set of other events that will prevent them from living their love fully. Around the Dalmau, there are other conflicts that are personified by the members of two other families: the Comes, who will assume the role of ascendant class, and the Hernández-Utrera, a humble Andalusian family that represents the migration wave of the late 50s and the subsequent integration of the younger generations into Catalan society. History explains the war from the side of the people who lived it and the time of post-war and dictatorship that followed it.
