Plot.
The stakes couldn't be higher for displaced Palestinian refugees Chatila and Reda in this knife-edge drama. The cousins are saving to pay for fake passports to get out of Athens, but when Reda loses their hard-earned cash to his drug addiction, Chatila hatches an extreme plan to pose as smugglers in an attempt to get them out of their desperate situation before it is too late.

To a Land Unknown is a 2024 drama film, directed and co-written by Mahdi Fleifel.
A coproduction of companies from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Palestine, the film stars Mahmood Bakri and Aram Sabbah as Chatila and Reda, Palestinian refugees living in Athens who are trying to save what little money they can acquire to purchase fake passports so they can move to Germany, only for Chatila to become drawn into a high-risk smuggling plot after Reda spends all their money on heroin.
The cast also includes Angeliki Papoulia, Manal Awad, Mohammad Ghassan, Mondher Rayahneh, Mouataz Alshaltouh and Mohammad Alsurafa in supporting roles.
