Plot.

Carolyn Martin is a fashion model who hastily marries her boyfriend, engineer Michael Martin. But part of the marriage arrangement requires that Carolyn quit her $50-per-week modeling job to be a full-time housewife; the couple will instead live on Michael’s $35-per-week job.

Based on an original story by Howard Emmett Rogers, the film is about a woman forced to give up her job as a fashion model by her new husband. Unable to meet her financial obligations, the woman secretly gets another job. The Bride Walks Out was the first of six films Edward Small made at RKO.
