
Biography
Zhang Zhizhi (Chinese, Pinyin Zhing Zhizhí; born 1901 in Changzhou, Chinese Empire; died October 29, 1970) was a Chinese actor. Zhang came to the film in 1926. In the early 1930s he went to the new strong film production company Lianhua. The corpulent actor was there first in supporting roles, often as a couple with thin Han Langen, such as in Tao hua qi xue ji (The Peach Girl, 1931) by Bu Wancang and Ye meigui (Wild Rose, 1932) by Sun Yu In Wu Yonggang's 1934 classic Shen nü, Zhang played a violent pimp next to Ruan Lingyu; in the criminal drama Lang tao sha (1936) of the same director, Zhang was the detective commissioner who persecuted a sailor (played by Jin Yan) who killed his wife's lover, and eventually died with him after a shipwreck alone on a desert island.Zhang Zhizhi's career ended in 1958.
