Giulio Broccoli, who has emigrated for several years to the United States in search of luck, is on the verge of returning finally to Italy but before leaving he decides to greet his old friend Mancuso, who runs "the Italian Restaurant", an Italian restaurant in New York; but the latter swindles him, giving him away 50% of the restaurant and stealing all the savings of a life and the plane ticket to Rome. He is stuck in New York, Giulio is forced to manage the restaurant together and to divide the apartment of which Connie and co-owner with Connie, the daughter of Mancuso returned to New York from Los Angeles after the end of his marriage; among various peripezia Giulio manages to raise the fate of the local and to conquer Connie and daughter Angie; but when between the two is about to happen something Connie is forced to return with Angie to the capezzale of the ex-husband who tries suicide because his new wife has abandoned him. As if he does not enough to the United States, he will marry his brother to Italy and then return to his father's home to his father.
