Plot.
With Majin Buu defeated half-a-year prior, peace returns to Earth, where Son Goku (now a radish farmer) and his friends now live peaceful lives. However, a new threat appears in the form of Beerus, the God of Destruction. Considered the most terrifying being in the entire universe, Beerus is eager to fight the legendary warrior seen in a prophecy foretold decades ago known as the Super Saiyan God. The series retells the events from the two Dragon Ball Z films, Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' before proceeding to an original story about the exploration of alternate universes.

Dragon Ball Super (Japanese: ドラゴンボール超（スーパー）, Hepburn: Doragon Bōru Sūpā) is a Japanese manga series written by Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotarou. Set during the time frame of Toriyama's original Dragon Ball manga, it follows the adventures of Son Goku and his friends during the ten-year timeskip between the defeat of Majin Buu and the conclusion of Dragon Ball Z. It began serialization in Shueisha's monthly shōnen manga magazine V Jump in June 2015. The manga is simulpublished in English by Viz Media and by Shueisha on their Manga Plus platform.
An anime television series produced by Toei Animation aired in Japan from July 2015 to March 2018, making it the latest mainline Dragon Ball series since Dragon Ball GT in 1996 (excluding the 2024–2025 miniseries Dragon Ball Daima). The first two arcs of the anime readapted the events of the Dragon Ball Z films Battle of Gods (2013) and Resurrection 'F' (2015), the latter which was only summarized in the manga. A sequel film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, was released in December 2018 and became the highest-grossing anime film of the franchise; like Resurrection 'F', it was included in the manga as a quick summarization. A second film, Super Hero, was released on June 11, 2022, and was later adapted into the manga. The anime series concluded at the end of the Universe Survival saga, while the manga wento into hiatus with the conclusion of the Super Hero saga following Toriyama's passing in March 2024. A one-shot chapter, which had been written by Toriyama and serves as a prequel to Super Hero, was released in February 2025 and will be included in volume 24 ahead of the continuation of the manga.
